HOOP DANCE WEST COAST REGIONALS

Mark your calendars as we are getting ready for the second annual West Coast Hoop Dance Championship!

New Location:

100 E. California Ave., Ridgecrest, CA.

This year we will be hosting the Hoop Dance Contests on Sat, Nov. 7, and on Sun. Nov. 8, we will celebrate with a Social Pow Wow. More Info coming soon See you there!

AkaMya will be presenting Hoop Dance and facilitating hoop dance workshops for the tribal community members. This is a one-day event.

Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fair Opening Night​​

6:00 pm

AkaMya Culture Group Artists and local tribal community members will again host the opening night NUMU Nights celebration. We will share song, dance, and more at the Tri-County Fairgrounds Opening Night. 

For participants: Please contact Sage @ AkaMya to sign up for the event by Friday Sept. 28, 2026. Presenters and their families will have free entry for the night (parking not included).

Animation project in collaboration with the Amah Mutsun will be screened at this annual Film festival held by the Colorado River Indian Tribes at the Bluewater Casino.

AkaMya Travel Team to Taos Pueblo Feast, San Geronimo

Taos, NM

AkaMya travel team will carpool to Taos Pueblo, to participate in the annual San Geronimo Feast and celebration. Participants will see traditional practices from long before colonization and enjoy in the traditional feast foods of Taos Pueblo while also enjoying the many traditional and contemporary artisans that participate in the plaze of Taos.
